Your 2 months, class by class

Story & idea

1 What makes a story work on screen: structure and conflict
2 Writing a short script and a treatment
3 Watching and breaking down scenes shot by shot

Camera fundamentals

4 Exposure, shutter, aperture and ISO in plain language
5 Lenses, focal length and what each one says
6 Camera movement: when to move and when to hold

Lighting

7 Key, fill and back — building a scene with light
8 Working with daylight, practicals and a small kit
9 Mood, contrast and matching shots
Week 4

Sound & dialogue

10 Microphones, placement and recording clean dialogue
11 Room tone, ambience and location sound problems
12 Planning audio so the edit is not a rescue job

Directing

13 Blocking a scene and directing performance
14 Coverage: the shots you must not leave without

Pre-production

Film Making and Direction FAQs

No. We teach on campus equipment, and everything we cover works on a phone too. If you own a camera, bring it and we will set it up with you.

No. We direct classmates and local volunteers for exercises, and your final short film is scoped to what you can realistically cast.

Film Making is about story, direction and cinema craft — scripted work with a crew. Content Creation is about fast, high-volume social video. They complement each other, and plenty of students take both.

Every course runs for 2 months with 3 classes per week — a steady pace that fits around work or study while still moving fast enough to keep momentum.

Every course is a one-time fee of PKR 35,000, which includes the free Freelancing Training, the free one-month GOFTECH internship and your certificate.
